How Paw & Thread began

Paw & Thread began with a single hoodie and a single dog. Our founder wanted a way to wear her rescue lurcher, Maisie, that didn't involve a blurry phone photo ironed onto a cheap tee — something that looked like real fashion, rendered by artists, and made to last. When she couldn't find it, she built it. Today every Paw & Thread piece still starts the same way: with a clear photo of a much-loved pet and an artist who renders it by hand.

Pet fashion, made personal

We believe pet lovers deserve better than generic merchandise. A paw print is lovely, but it isn't your pet. So we render your actual animal — breed, markings, expression and all — in the art style you choose, and print or stitch it on premium organic cotton. The result is personalised pet fashion that's genuinely personal: one of a kind, made to order, and built to be worn for years, not seasons.

Made to order in the UK

Everything we make is made to order in the UK. Nothing is held in stock, which means nothing is wasted and every piece is finished by hand. You upload a photo, pick a style and a product, preview your pet on it, and approve the artwork before we make it. After a 48-hour artist approval window, your order goes into production, then tracked UK delivery — free over £100. It's slower than off-the-peg, and that's the point.

Artists, not auto-filters

Every portrait is rendered by artists, not an auto-filter. That's the core of what we do. An auto-filter flattens your pet into a generic style; an artist keeps the likeness that makes your pet yours — the ears, the snout, the markings, the expression. You preview before you buy and you approve before we make, so your pet stays recognisable.

A responsible way to make

Our cotton is organic, our inks are water-based, and our packaging is recyclable. Because we make to order, we don't carry stock that ends up in landfill. Our print partners are chosen for quality and fair practice, and every order is finished by hand in the UK.
